Situation Analysis
In February of 2007 the NBA All-Star Game made its debut in Las Vegas. Not to be outdone by the extravagance of the city, the NBA and its official shoe partner Adidas set out to integrate their brands throughout the famed Las Vegas Strip for this momentous weekend. But their integration goals were far beyond the scope of what Strip resorts had ever done or allowed before. Posterscope, Adidas’ worldwide out of home agency, turned to Outdoor Solutions to make the massive, never-done-before campaign a possibility.
Solution
Outdoor Solutions utilized long-term relationships with Strip resort operators to help convince them that not only would they realize a financial gain by agreeing to the campaign, but that allowing massive NBA wallscapes and oversized creative applications on hotel landmarks would generate a unique, publicity-driven news visual for the widely covered NBA Weekend.
Program
Outdoor Solutions recommended, helped guide the creative process, managed production and installation for several resort wallscapes, a tailor-made jersey to fit the 50-foot bronze lion in front of MGM Grand and pervasive signage throughout the property that communicated and drove excitement for Adidas and the NBA ALL-Star Weekend. The result of these one-of-kind creative applications was on-Strip branding and excitement as well as millions of impressions in television and print coverage. The NBA even used the Strip corner as the featured site for their official Las Vegas press conference.
